 Entrepreneurship and Leadership Office

Entrepreneurship is the process of recognizing any need or problem related to humans and producing a solution for it. An entrepreneur is anyone who is aware of the problems and expectations of the world, country and society they live in and can make a difference in producing solutions with a different perspective they create.

The Entrepreneurship and Leadership Office was established to organize programs for the individual development of our students in order to raise entrepreneurial graduates in line with the vision of our university and to support students with its expert staff.

Our implementation office runs the "Entrepreneurship Report Card" program to document the activities of our students during their entrepreneurial development process. Graduates will be able to document their entrepreneurial work thanks to the program detailed below.

1. What is an entrepreneurship report card?

An entrepreneurship report card is a follow-up procedure that allows the evaluation of the performance of each student at the university according to certain entrepreneurial actions that are predetermined or accepted later and rewarding them if a certain stage is passed. The records kept for each student since the first year determine the student's entrepreneurial development and its course, independently of the grading and course curriculum.

Entrepreneurship report card is an experience program designed with different options so that Ostim Technical University students;

Discover their tendencies, skills and talents, their limits on what they can do, themselves and their goals;

Learn to identify and define the needs and problems in their environment;

Ultimately, within the framework of their own tendencies, skills, talents and goals, they can take responsibility and take action to produce solutions for the problems and needs they encounter in every dimension and stage extending from themselves to humanity.

It is not a direct information acquisition (course, laboratory, application) program,

It is not just a commercial enterprise,

It is not a paid program.

Entrepreneurship report card is completely an OstimTech project.

Ensuring that students make a difference in the sector by focusing on design, production, organization and solution generation, and providing experience in establishing a start-up, finding business partners, project planning and finding capital in case they want to open their own workplace and provide production and service are among the goals of the entrepreneurship report card.

As OSTIM Technical University, our expectation is that our students with an entrepreneurial mindset should be individuals who can take risks and be realistic while doing so, be competent in time management, be open to change, be a team player and take initiative on their own.

 Entrepreneurship report card content

OSTIM Technical University “Entrepreneurship Report Card Indicators” basically consist of entrepreneurship activities that will earn students points with different indicators under three dimensions. OSTIM Technical University “Entrepreneurship Report Card Indicators” consist of entrepreneurial activities that will earn students points. These dimensions are:

“Compulsory education” to be provided within the university,

Some “personal activities” that the student may want to participate in and include in his/her report card with his/her own perspective, environment and knowledge,

“Activities to be carried out with the support of our university” since it will be possible to provide the student with some actions that he/she can include in his/her entrepreneurship report card in the school environment.

It is very important for OSTIM Technical University to graduate students with an entrepreneurial mindset. In this context, with some compulsory education to be provided by the Lifelong Education Center within the university, even if students do not aim to advance their entrepreneurship report card, they are expected to have some minimum knowledge and technical equipment. Our university aims for all the initiatives, actions and activities that our students will carry out during their university life, within their own areas of interest, outside of school, to create added value for their personal development and the development of the country. In this context, the idea of ​​including any activity or action taken outside of school in the entrepreneurship report card aims to fill students' time with such activities. Accordingly, some individual-related entrepreneurial actions that will earn points on the student's entrepreneurship report card are as follows:

R&D or an innovation project conducted on a national or international platform (Executive 20, researcher 5 points)

A developed product or service idea, if any (5 points)

A patent obtained individually (25 points)

An individual project, work or service conducted in our university's technopark/incubation center (Executive 20, researcher 10 points)

An individual project, work or service conducted in another university's technopark/incubation center (Executive 10, researcher 5 points)

Establishing an individual company (40 points)

A social responsibility project conducted on social media (10 points)

A charity activity organized individually (10 points)

Visits to nursing homes/orphanages/love homes and related activities (5 points)

Entrepreneurship for Students Some opportunities that will help you earn points on your report card may also be provided within our university. Accordingly, some entrepreneurial actions that they can participate in within the university are as follows:

Taking part in a research project conducted with our university project office (10 points for the director, 5 points for the researcher)

Courses taken on entrepreneurship (5 points)

Being a member/manager in any school club (10 points for director, 5 points for membership)

Taking an active role in a social responsibility or entrepreneurship project organized within the school clubs/organizing it personally (5 points)

A charity activity organized within the school (5 points)

A project, design, product, service or business idea created within the scope of the entrepreneurship project course, within the Continuing Education Center or Lifelong Education Center (5 points)

A patent obtained on behalf of the school (25 points)

A R&D or innovation project conducted on behalf of the school on a national or international platform (20 points for the director, 10 points for the researcher)

Symposium, workshop or conference presentations attended on behalf of the school (10 points)

 Entrepreneurship Tracking the Report Card

Following the entrepreneurship report card is primarily the responsibility of our students. However, our university's "Entrepreneurship and Leadership Office" is the main unit responsible for tracking and evaluating students' report cards. The office's working procedures and principles are determined by the relevant directive.

 Opportunities Provided by the Entrepreneurship Report Card

As a result, for our students who pass a certain score in their entrepreneurship report card, the school will provide awards such as start-up capital support for the design, product, service or project they have designed, job opportunities in Ostim Technopark, finding and connecting business partners, and internship opportunities abroad.

 Entrepreneurship and Leadership Application and Research Center

Entrepreneurship is the process of realizing any need or problem related to humans and producing a solution for it. An entrepreneur is anyone who is aware of the problems and expectations of the world, country and society they live in and can make a difference in producing solutions with the different perspective they create.

The Entrepreneurship and Leadership Center was established to organize programs for the individual development of our students in order to raise entrepreneurial graduates in line with the vision of our university and to support students with its expert staff. The Entrepreneurship and Leadership Center is the main platform that develops and provides the activities and services carried out and planned by OSTIM Technical University regarding entrepreneurship.

 Collaborative, Innovative and Creative

OSTIM Technical University Entrepreneurship and Leadership Center has adopted the mission of working to create a common, innovative and creative space that facilitates value creation and professional development, to create entrepreneurial thinking and awareness, to spread them, to transform them into innovative ideas and to commercialize these ideas and to transform them into values ​​that will contribute to the creation of sustainable wealth in society. In this context, it continues its work to develop entrepreneurship culture in every institution and society.

Purpose of the Center

To create and spread entrepreneurship culture at OSTIM Technical University; to encourage all entrepreneurs and OSTIM Technical University students and academicians to develop initiatives based on innovation, creativity and technology, to develop their skills and competencies and to provide the necessary connections for the transformation of their initiatives into high added value commercial value. To develop and carry out activities that contribute to the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership skills of entrepreneurs and entrepreneur candidates, especially university faculty members and students, to bring business ideas to life and to commercialize these ideas.
